On Feb. 22, 2018, Custom Electric Ltd. took part in a Skilled Trades Fair held at Calgary’s Lord Beaverbrook High School. The trade fair was presented by the non-profit organization CAREERS: The Next Generation alongside the Calgary Board of Education.

CAREERS partners with government, educators, communities, industry, parents and students to introduce youth to rewarding careers and helps develop our future skilled workers.

Custom Electric Ltd. was proud to participate at this event with our very own John Campbell and Doug Miller alongside Dana Alisat, answering questions regarding career opportunities in the electrical contracting field. Not only did they expose our youth to the possibility of a career as electricians but, also helped them understand the necessary requirements to achieve a career in the industry.

The intent of the trade fair is to enable students and their parents to learn more about the trades, apprenticeships and related careers. The fair also empowers students with an opportunity to network with trade professionals. Students are able to ask questions and learn more about their interest in the trades.

Custom Electric Ltd. encourages and supports our own employees in their continuing education endeavors, providing ongoing, on the job and off-site training. Apprentices with our company receive a comprehensive and thorough education, with exposure to an array of projects and products where possible.

We are fortunate to participate in events like the skilled trades fair at Lord Beaverbrook High School which enables us to share our passions and hopefully inspire electricians of the future.
