Safety Always Comes First
Custom Electric Ltd. maintains a culture of Safety First, which is reflected from the day of hire and continues throughout the duration of the employee’s career. All new employees go through WHMIS training prior to setting foot on the job site. New-to-site employees receive a safety orientation to the project.
Weekly Tool Box Meetings
Weekly tool box meetings reinforce our safety culture and participation is required by all staff. A companywide safety committee, meets monthly to communicate new safety policies to employees and to receive feedback from field staff that is communicated to management.
Industry Standard Safety
We are committed to creating a health and safety environment in accordance with industry standards and in compliance with legislative requirements. We strive to eliminate any foreseeable hazards, which may result in incidents, personal injury/illness, or property damage. Management is also committed to a strong company safety culture which includes educating and motivating all their employees to recognize their responsibilities and actively support incident and injury prevention.
Certified Safety Professionals
We employ two certified safety professionals to maintain and administer our safety program. They ensure the policies are followed in accordance to the standards set by Occupational Health and Safety and our company safety manual. Their responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Maintaining our COR, providing safety training, routine site visits/inspections, toolbox meetings, conducting health and safety committee meetings, new hire orientation, WCB claims management and addressing any health and safety concerns within the company.
Certificate of Recognition
Custom Electric Ltd.’s commitment and dedication to safety has been awarded a Certificate of Recognition (COR). COR is an occupational safety and health accreditation program that audits employers to ensure their health and safety management systems meet and maintain national standards.
